Well, Well, Well

Been a while since I've checked in here, hasn't it? We're going to try a little experiment with video from the salon here I think. If it works, you'll see it. If it doesn't, you'll hear me cursing quietly in the background ;)

Watching The Maple Leaves Turn

Well, I knew this might be bad, but I didn't think it would be *this* long til I got around to posting again.

Spent a week in Pa. last month, stocking up on goodies to see me thru the winter. Today - three weeks after my return - I finally got the van unloaded. I never knew a part-time job could take up soooo many hours! But it was a great trip - got to visit a bit with G&B and deedles and dan'l and the lovely lion. Much nicer than chatting online. The trip home was divine thanks to a visit to Circuit City in Allentown. Got a really nice ipod ready cd/mp3 player, four matched speakers (this player would have blown out the old speakers in about 2 seconds), and after much debate, the 30gb iPod. I waved goodbye to most of a month's wages, but money spent on decent electronics comes under the heading of "Necessities" in my world. Maybe I'll actually get some time to take the iPod out of the package soon...sighhhh.

View From The Box

I adore electronics. I inherited it from my dad. I've been contemplating iPods lately. I need long distance music in my car - which came with nothing but an AM-FM radio. So much for car shopping in Vermont, but we'll save that for a different rant.
Input would be welcome. Is 30gb enough? Is 60gb insanely big? By the time I get the iPod and the dock and the radio transmitter this is turning into quite a proposition. Since there's no cassette deck in the car, I *have* to use the fm transmitter option. I already have a Belkin transmitter that I use with a CD player. Will this work, or am I committing myself to yet another piece of stuff to carry around? How many hours am I going to spend d/l or copying music off my cd collection? Is anyone out there using the non-Mac mp3 players and what do you think of them? How fragile are any of them?
